The following document specifies and describes the rules and regulations
for acceptable use on the ThunderCity IRC network.
While connected to any ThunderCity server, you must comply with the following rules: Acceptable Use Policy (hereinafter AUP). Consequences for violation of these rules are specified in Section Three (3).

1 - RULES
You must agree to abide by the following rules while connected to a ThunderCity server:
· No faked or altered user@host information is allowed;
· No denial of service ("DoS") actions or abuse of ThunderCity resources, including but not limited to flooding, cloning, mass-messaging, and mass-inviting, is permitted;
· No bots/scripts or clients that generate auto responses in the form of spam/dcc send or other unsolicited advertising or messages to the channel that responds either to triggers or joins/parts are allowed in network channels unless explicitly and previously approved by an irc operator/administrator;
· Unsolicited advertising to users is not allowed;
· Private messaging staff without permission is not allowed;
· Each server's staff retains the right to deny access to the benefit of a clear reason or notification if denied access to the network or server resources;
Therefore:
· You must also agree to comply with any additional guidelines on the MOTD of the server to which you are connected.
· You must also agree to comply with policies of individual channels to which you are connected.
By connecting to any ThunderCity server
You hereby state you know and are aware of AUP;
You hereby agree to comply with the AUP as well as the policies of the individual servers, which are stated on each server's Message of the Day ("MOTD") (type /motd in your status window). You also agree to comply with the Administrative Network Policy which can be found here;
You hereby state you are aware that ThunderCity server admins and staff does not condone, approve or endorse any violation of any state (or federal) laws, statutes, regulations, rules.
The ThunderCity IRC Network greatly appreciates your attention and compliance with these regulations.
2 - DISCLAIMER
This service is an unmoderated, free medium and may be used by unscrupulous people for unscrupulous things. Please report any violations of our rules and regulations to network staff immediately.
We do not condone any illegal acts. Please be aware of the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside. Network admins, staff, system managers, and network managers are in no way responsible for the content of this service.
Be forewarned. Treat this system and network with respect. Network staff reserves the right to refuse this service to any user at any time for any reason, or none at all.
You are a guest here, and by connecting to this service, agree to be bound by the aforementioned terms and conditions. Please remember that you are a guest on the network at all times, and you are expected to conduct yourself accordingly.
The administration of any server on this network does not log or monitor any traffic that may pass through their servers for content or clarity. By retaining a connection to any part of ThunderCity, you state that you know and are willing to comply and accept these as well as any future terms of service, network policies, and user guidelines.
No responsibility for computer damage, data loss, or any other related damage shall be implied by any ThunderCity server administrator. By using any ThunderCity server, you hereby state and agree that you release the ThunderCity, its servers, administrators, operators, and any other volunteer of ThunderCity from all responsibilty or legal liability which might result from your use of ThunderCity servers.
No responsibility for privacy violation shall be implied by any ThunderCity server administrator. please be aware that TunderCity server administrator will disclose any information in possession regarding users, under formal court order.
This policy takes precedence over any statements made by any individual at any time. This AUP is the official policy document of ThunderCity, and must be adhered to. No one is granted authority, either explicitly or implicitly, to make statements in conflict with this document. Should statements be made by any agent or non-agent of ThunderCity, this document takes precedence. 3 - CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATION
If you violate any rule or regulation stated in this document or on the MOTD of any Thundercity server or on the administrative network policy, you will be subject to progressive disciplinary action, including but not limited to denial of access to any ThunderCity server or the entire network, or legal action where applicable. Denial of access to a particular ThunderCity server can be made at the server administrator's discretion. Your Internet provider may be denied access to the server or network if you successfully evade a ban.
4 - APPEALING A VIOLATION
If you are banned or denied access to a ThunderCity server or the entire network, you should follow the procedure outlined below. Please note, however, that ThunderCity server administrators are under no obligation to take any further action if you are denied access.
· If you are K:lined (banned from a specific server), contact the server administration (/ADMIN will display a contact e-mail address) and request the elimination of the ban, explaining how future incidents can be avoided.
· If you are G:lined (banned from the entire network for a particular length of time), contact abuse@thundercity.net and request that the ban be lifted, explaining how future incidents can be avoided.
Certain servers limit access to users from foreign countries to encourage users to utilize a server closer to their location. These bans will not be lifted. If your entire site (Internet provider host) is banned from a server, please contact your ISP administrator and ask that they contact the ThunderCity server administrators themselves.
